Rest. Stop Rushing.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord we have an everlasting rock.” - Isaiah 26:3-4 (MEV)

One of the beautiful ways the Lord speaks is through His creation. It is important for us to rest and simply observe His creation. Everything at peace working as it is designed. The birds fed and free, the waves flowing, trees lush and alive with a deep green glow. Time passing. Life coming and going. Stop, observe, breathe, and marvel at His creation. Often life gets so busy that we fill all our time with things created by men and do not stop to observe the things God himself has created. We find it hard to find peace and rest in the Father because we fill our time and minds with the business of life.

If Christ so perfectly cares for His creation and all live joyfully in His dominion, then how much more should we have in Him? He traded his own life for ours. All creation is satisfied in His presence and yet we worry. Jesus says in the book of Matthew that God knows our needs and will provide. He gives the example of a field of flowers and how majestic the sight, He speaks on how the birds have food for each and every day, He provides examples of His creation. He sums it by saying “For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. 33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you.” (Matthew 6:32-33 MEV) He will take care of our needs. Be still. Enjoy and delight in Him. God placed all of creation under His dominion. Rejoice. Glorify the Father. Find rest in the shadow of His wings. Slow down, rest, and know God as provider.
