Reflection Checkpoint: Day 4

Read Jude 1:1-8

This is a reflection checkpoint. A crucial part of growing deeper in our understanding and application of God’s word is reflection. This is where we take time to process what we have walked through so far. Often it is easy to rush through material and learn things at such a rate that we do not truly absorb it. God’s word is not meant for us to breeze over it, rather it is meant for us to dive deep and apply it. After rereading the passage so far, read through the questions below. Feel free to journal them or simply think about them. These are meant to help you process everything we have gone through.

  • Jude in his opening says that he writes to “those who are called.” Take a moment to think back to when God called your name and you responded.

  • We are called to contend for the faith. The enemy seeks to deceive us through perverting the message of grace. Being honest with yourself, have you taken a stand for the faith? or have you let the flow of life, influence you to be desensitized to the enemy’s schemes?

  • Does reading about God’s judgment make you feel uncomfortable? Why or why not?

  • Humility compels us to share the grace we have received. Pride puts us in the seat of the judge to condemn the world. Which heart posture do you find yourself in most?
